WASNET REGIONAL DIRECTORY OF SEED INDUSTRY PARTICIPANTS

The objective of this activity is to provide detailed information on the different organizations (both public and private) involved in the seed industry in the different participating countries. A seedsmen’s directory with relevant information will encourage future contacts, exchange of information, visits, etc.

WASNET will compile, publish and update a Regional Directory of Seed Industry participants, including both public and private sector agencies

SUGGESTED APPROACH:

The first issue of the Seed Directory is suggested to include – from each participating country – full details of the agency(ies), institute(s), organization(s), company(ies), which produce and supply seed (both government and private sector), as well as organization(s), institute(s), etc involved in policy, certification, testing, extension promotion, seed law implementation, training, supply of equipment and supplies, wholesale seed dealers, retail seed dealers, seed production, etc.. Any other individual and/or agency involved in any aspect of the seed industry should be included. Full details should include, name, address, telephone number, fax number, telex, e-mail address, but also the names of senior staff of these organizations/institutes/companies etc.

The Steering Committee has also suggested to include names of senior staff involved in each of the above mentioned institutions, organizations, companies, etc.

Step 1:

Collect all possible information as outlined above.

Step 2:

Compile this information per country, as well as per topic.

Step 3:

Prepare the information as a WASNET Regional Information Publication.

Step 4:

With the assistance of the Secretariat, make the information available to all participating countries and others.
